Carl is a comfortable, durable high-top sneaker inspired by the 80s, with a wide range of models covering everything from retro to modern. The upper is made from GRS-certified recycled PU leather, specially developed by ethletic for later use in the Circular Economy, and also characterized by its high wearing comfort and a memory effect that almost always guarantees a perfect fit.

The upper is made from a high-quality leather substitute with a particularly soft feel, high wearing comfort, and natural look. The material is durable, water-repellent, and GRS-certified, meaning it consists of 100% recycled components that are themselves recyclable. In addition, the leather substitute was further tested by ethletic for critical elements and ingredients.

For particularly high durability, the natural rubber sole is finished with a slightly thicker seam than is customary with conventional manufacturers. The natural product can be regranulated and thus reused for the production of new soles.

All other materials such as shoelaces, labels, and threads are Ökotex certified and can be recycled at the end of their lifecycle.
